| CampusPortal serves Cardean’s students 24/7
Cardean Learning Group LLC implemented CampusPortal in 2005 for
its two campuses, Ellis College and Cardean University. CampusPortal has become an essential component of this fully online institution’s
student services and operations. Cardean grants graduate and undergraduate
degrees in partnership with New York Institute of Technology.
Curriculum for the program was developed in conjunction with the
Columbia Business School, Stanford University, The University
of Chicago Graduate School of Business, Carnegie Mellon, and The
London School of Economics and Political Science.
Access to student services, including the Cardean’s state-of-the-art
Learning Management System platform, was provided through CampusPortal.
The portal processes the student’s online application,
produces course receipts, enables access to grade reports, and
serves as the log-in point to the courses themselves. CampusPortal
is well-integrated with the course delivery system and the core
CampusVue administrative solution which maintains student records.
The global nature of Cardean’s student base and online
operations require the portal to be available 24/7 year-round.
Today, Cardean captures prospective students via CampusPortal’s
applicant persona functionality. Pre-set workflows ensure that
back office staff are made aware of all applications, while
the system automatically responds to the student and schedules
follow up actions, depending upon their interests and stage
in the process. A real-time linkage to the student information
system ensures that each applicant is processed in a timely
fashion.
Online launching point
Cardean’s students log into CampusPortal to launch to
their online courses, libraries and other web resources. While
in the portal, students are able to view their messages and
communicate with
their advisors.
Ron Calderone, Vice President of Information Technology at Cardean,
stated, “CampusVue and CampusPortal are critical business
systems for Cardean. These tools have helped streamline our
processes and increased the services delivered to our students.
The students have been very receptive to the ‘self-service’
offerings provided by CampusPortal. We continue to expand service
offerings, such as
online registration with encryption, using
the CampusPortal framework.”
